Le lavorazioni preliminari

Early Processing
1, Washing. The small lots are individually washed with the water from the Biella mountains, which has the perfect softness for this operation, using a traditional wool washing system and biological and biodegradeable detergents, made form sustainable sources such as coconut and palm oil. The waste water is treated in full respect of current stringent EEC regulations, both in internal and external water treatment plants, that were built specifically for woolwashing effluent. Biella treats a higher percentage of it’s waste water than any other area in Europe, which demonstrates how much consideration they give to this problem.
2, Dyeing (if required) – this operation I carried out fully respecting current strict EEC regulations, using product with minimal environmental impact. Natural dyes are also available.

3, Spinning – the wool is spun to produce the required yarn, either woolen or worsted, that will then go for further processing.
