Details of weaving courses

 

All courses will have a maximum of 8 participants to ensure a high level of instruction.

 

First week

 

Duration 5 days  - 3 hours morning and 3 hours afternoon. 

 

Beginners course:-

 

Initial project design,  calculation and making the warp.

You will make two sample pieces:-

A, In wool -  colour and weave structure effect, use of various materials, neck-opening, hem-stitching  and fringes.

B,  In cotton (or linen) – Brooks Bouquet, Overshot and Brocaded Weft.

 

Second week

 

5 day Advanced weaving (please enquire for details)  or

2 day course of natural dyeing  and 2 day course felting with further day visiting local attractions .

 

Should you wish to spend a week weaving and a further week exploring the local area we can offer excursions to suit everybody’s taste. From sea to sun to mountains to lakes to art to shopping to sport to gastronomy.
